New Coach / Parent Library
Early in 2005, a couple East Longmeadow children designed and sold ‘East Longmeadow Spartan’ wristbands to benefit the town’s education and sports programs. The primary supporters of the program were the young children in town. A significant portion of these funds are being used to build a coach/parent library intended to benefit the youth involved in the East Longmeadow Recreation Department Sports Programs.
The library will include books, DVDs and tapes for coaches, parents and athletes. The material covers all the sports offered by the Recreation Department as well as coaching and parenting guidelines. The hope is that the best materials available for our coaches and parents will provide our children with the most positive experiences possible.
We further encourage coaches (past and present) and parents to contribute to this library and pass along their wealth of knowledge to new coaches, parents, and most importantly, the children of East Longmeadow. Stop by the Recreation Department and ask to review this new library.
