Guidance Gossip
May 2005
We are very excited and
proud to announce that the students at Meadow Brook School raised $2383.53 for
this year’s Pennies for Patients campaign.
This money goes to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and assists
children with these diseases. We are
just beaming that our students are so involved in helping other children!! This year’s collection exceeds that of the
previous two years combined!!!
Our thanks go to the
students, the families, the classroom teachers and all who supported this
worthy endeavor. Special thanks to
parent volunteers (Gae Gold, Lisa Lord, Diane McCarthy, Jodi Piemonte, and Mary
Schaller-Race) who helped to cart the coins to Coinstar machines and count all
of our pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters.
Eleven classrooms earned
ice cream parties for having 100% participation in the Pennies for Patients
campaign and Room 23 won the pizza party for collecting the most money of any
room ($215. 32)! Since our school did
so well this year the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society awarded pencils to every
child in the school as a thank you.
